Africa-inspired health food brand Aduna has launched an exciting new range of Superfood Energy Bars. Crafted from dried fruit and nuts, these bars are infused with nutrient-rich African superfoods. The launch aims to bring African superfoods into the mainstream by balancing taste, texture, and nutrition, according to the company.
In response to growing consumer and retailer demand for naturally healthy snacks with functional benefits, Aduna Superfood Energy Bars are 100% natural. Importantly, they contain no added sugar, preservatives, additives, gluten, or dairy ingredients. Each bar serves as a source of fiber and includes at least two vitamins and minerals that support energy release.
The product range will be available at Holland & Barrett stores nationwide starting this August. It features a revamped packaging and recipe for Aduna’s three existing bars alongside three new flavors: Banana Boost with Baobab Superfruit, Berry Bite with Hibiscus Superflower, and Choc-Orange Burst with raw cacao.
According to Aduna, the new bars adopt a more indulgent, brownie-like shape. The fresh packaging is designed for enhanced shelf appeal, setting it apart in the market.
“Our new bars bring the extraordinary health benefits of our African superfoods to an even wider consumer base, tapping into three major trends: naturally healthy foods, superfoods, and ethical consumerism,” says Andrew Hunt, co-founder and CEO of Aduna.
He adds, “The range will drive category growth for our retail partners by attracting superfood consumers into the bar category and millennials seeking products that make a positive social impact. Based on consumer testing feedback, these bars are poised to be a hit.”
In blind taste tests, Aduna’s bars scored 7.10/10, outperforming a leading competitor’s score of 6.06. Scores of seven or higher are considered ‘exceptional’ by the testing facility.
Aduna’s portfolio includes Baobab, Moringa, and Cacao superfood powders along with the newly launched Superfood Energy Bars. These products are available in 2,000 stores across 18 countries. Notably, in the UK, Aduna supplies over 1,000 retailers, including Holland & Barrett, Ocado, Whole Foods, and Planet Organic. The company achieved annual revenues exceeding £1 million in 2017.
The 40g Aduna snack bars are priced at a recommended retail price of £1.89.
