Showcasing a commitment to food and drink sustainability, the new bottles feature clear PET plastic, incorporating 35% RPET. These innovative bottles come with a fresh micro-perforated sleeve, which provides consumers with straightforward instructions to remove the sleeve prior to recycling.
In addition, each bottle is now equipped with an attached cap, facilitating the easy sorting and recycling of both the PET bottle and cap, while also helping to reduce littering.
Antoine Hours, general manager at Yoplait UK, stated: “Our ambition is for all of our packaging to be recyclable by the end of 2025, and the recent transition to PET, alongside the inclusion of RPET in our Yop bottles this year, marks a significant advancement toward that goal. We also introduced PET for our Petits Filous, Wildlife, Peppa Pig, and Paw Patrol pots last year.”
Moreover, he added: “We are confident that we can move toward being a more circular brand as technologies and infrastructures become more sophisticated.” This statement highlights the ongoing evolution in food and drink packaging practices.
Beyond the new recyclable bottle design, Yop will also debut the updated Yoplait logo and will include additional information on the back of the packaging. This enhanced communication aims to educate consumers about the unique attributes of Yop, aligning with current food and drink consumer trends.
