Westpak Group Ltd has introduced their latest innovation in food and drink packaging. The new ‘StikLok’ range of ‘tamper-evident’ delivery bags aims to address customer complaints of missing items, reduce operational costs, and provide a secure solution against food tampering. These recyclable paper bags come in various sizes, with or without handles, and offer the option for branding.

Tamper-evident bags & foodservice delivery platforms

Many foodservice and restaurant brands heavily rely on third-party food delivery platforms. However, a common issue faced is the lack of control over the security of delivered food once it leaves the restaurant. This often results in missing items and customer complaints. Addressing this challenge is crucial to minimize costs for both the restaurant brands and the delivery platforms.

Various methods have been tried to tackle this issue, such as using stickers or staples on the delivery bags. However, these methods have drawbacks, including increased packaging costs, complexity in stock management, and food safety concerns.

Westpak’s ‘StikLok’ solution

Westpak’s innovative ‘StikLok’ delivery bags offer a reliable solution. These bags feature large adhesive strips for secure closure, eliminating the need for staples or stickers. Made from paper, StikLok bags are also recyclable, aligning with sustainable packaging practices in the UK.

The StikLok range includes various size options, color choices, and handle variations to suit different foodservice packaging needs. The bags were showcased at the ‘Packaging Innovations’ event in February 2024.

Seth Hicks, Managing Director at Westpak, stated, “Our new design sets a new standard for carry bag sealing systems in the foodservice industry, ensuring consumer trust and food safety.”
