In a recent development, Dessert Holdings, a US-based company, has successfully acquired Kenny’s Great Pies from investor Kaho Partners, expanding its portfolio of premium dessert brands.
The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed. This strategic move is set to enhance Dessert Holdings’ offerings to both retail and foodservice customers. The acquisition will complement the existing platform of premium dessert brands operated by Dessert Holdings.
Under the leadership of Gary Muter, Kenny’s Great Pies, a manufacturer of cream-based pies, will continue its operations. Muter, who has been with the company for 16 years and serving as CEO since 2020, brings a wealth of experience to the table.
Established in 1989 and based in Smyrna, Georgia, Kenny’s Great Pies has carved a niche for itself in the market.
Dessert Holdings, in a statement, highlighted Kenny’s Great Pies’ strong presence in the market, selling millions of branded and private-label pies across various channels. Paul Lapadat, the CEO of Dessert Holdings, expressed that Kenny’s products would complement their premium dessert portfolio.
Lapadat further added that the acquisition of Kenny’s Great Pies would expand Dessert Holdings’ distribution network and leverage Kenny’s established market position.
The acquisition also drew positive remarks from Kenny’s Muter, who sees the partnership as an opportunity to accelerate growth and promote their all-natural product offerings to a wider audience.
With Bain Capital’s support, Dessert Holdings expects to drive further growth and capitalize on Kenny’s Great Pies’ market position and product offerings.
Additionally, Dessert Holdings’ portfolio includes various renowned brands like Steven Charles, The Original Cakerie, Lawler’s, Atlanta Cheesecake Company, and Dianne’s Fine Desserts. With the addition of Kenny’s Great Pies, Dessert Holdings aims to serve a larger customer base across North America, Asia, and other regions.
