The lightweight construction of this PET bottle weighs in at just 90g, a significant reduction compared to the 900g weight of some competitor bottles. This not only makes it easier to handle but also reduces the environmental impact of production and transportation.

In terms of sustainability, the production of this PET bottle results in up to 150g of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO²-eq), a considerable improvement over the 600g of CO²-eq emitted during the production of a standard 650g glass bottle. Furthermore, the PET bottle is physically recyclable and will soon be available in partially recycled rPET.

Philippe Blonda, consultant at PDG Plastiques, and wine trade specialist Enno Lippold are excited to showcase the new PET bottle in combination with a natural cork closure. They believe that this pairing allows full-pressure sparkling wines to achieve a negative carbon footprint, marking a significant development in sustainable packaging solutions.

Blonda emphasized the years of development that went into creating this groundbreaking PET sparkling wine bottle, highlighting its ability to withstand pressures of at least 12 bar. He also pointed out the significant market potential for PET bottles in containing carbonated alcoholic beverages, signaling a promising future for sustainable packaging solutions in the food and drink industry.
