Greenyard, the Belgium-based fruit-and-veg group, has announced a change in leadership as it moves towards consolidating its top management structure. Francis Kint, the current Managing Director of Greenyard’s frozen division, has been promoted as the new CEO, succeeding the co-CEOs Hein Deprez and Marc Zwaanveld.
Founder Hein Deprez will continue to play a key role in the company, overseeing the vision and strategic direction as an executive director on the board, in line with Greenyard’s mission to position itself as a pure-plant powerhouse.
The appointment of Francis Kint as CEO is seen as a strategic move to steer the company in the direction of growth and unleash its full potential. Kint’s extensive experience in the fruit and vegetable industry, gained from his leadership roles in both fresh and long fresh segments, is expected to drive the company’s strategic goals forward.
In a bid to further emphasize its commitment to growth, Greenyard reported a 6.6% increase in sales for its last full financial year, generating €4.69bn ($5.12bn). The company’s net result from continuing operations stood at €9.3m, reflecting a strong performance. The upward trajectory was also evident in the latest half-year sales, which saw a 9.5% rise to €2.52bn.
It is evident that Greenyard is aligning itself for further growth and success in the food and beverage industry, leveraging the expertise of its new CEO and the strong foundation laid by its founder. This strategic move signifies the company’s commitment to staying ahead of food and beverage industry trends and consumer preferences.
