Reese’s is set to broaden its UK take-home confectionery range in September with two new launches, responding to the “swalty” (sweet-and-salty) and “swavory” flavour movements expected to influence the market in 2026. The expansion reflects wider food and beverage industry trends, including evolving food and drink consumer trends and continued food and drink industry innovation.

Responding to emerging flavour preferences

Interest in sweet-and-salty combinations remains strong, encouraging Reese’s to put a fresh spin on its established peanut butter recipe. The new products combine the brand’s familiar salty-sweet peanut butter and milk chocolate with caramel, creating a layered taste and texture intended to generate additional growth across impulse purchases and sharing occasions.

As food manufacturing trends, food processing technology and food distribution trends continue to shape the wider sector, confectionery brands are also refining product formats, food and drink packaging and food and drink marketing strategies to meet changing shopper expectations. Reese’s latest additions build on this broader movement while remaining focused on indulgent, accessible snacking.

Two new products join the range

  • Reese’s Caramel Block (90g, RRP £1.75): This new chocolate block combines Reese’s signature peanut butter and milk chocolate with a smooth caramel centre, giving consumers another option in the expanding blocks segment.
  • Reese’s White Peanut Butter Cup Trio (59g, RRP £1.25): The popular trio format moves into white chocolate, providing a creamy alternative suited to everyday on-the-go treats.

Expanding familiar occasions

The two launches aim to answer demand for fresh ways to enjoy the classic Reese’s flavour, with formats designed to suit both individual snacking and informal social sharing. They also support the brand’s broader response to food and drink sustainability expectations and evolving food and drink regulations across the market.

“We’re always looking for new ways to bring excitement to the confectionery category while staying true to the unmistakable flavour combination that consumers know and love from Reese’s,” said Jackson Hitchon, general manager of Asia, EMEA & World Travel Retail at The Hershey Company. “The launch of Reese’s Caramel Block and Reese’s White Peanut Butter Cup Trio does exactly that, offering a new way to enjoy the iconic peanut butter cups in a new format and extending our offering in the blocks category with a caramel twist.”
