In the realm of food packaging, Interpack has emerged as the top event for industry professionals. Held over seven days, the trade fair was truly a success, with visitors and exhibitors alike thrilled with the atmosphere and business opportunities on offer. According to Richard Clemens, managing director of VDMA’s Food Machinery and Packaging Machinery Association, “Great mood, packed stands, good and plenty of business” was the consensus among visitors.
Metsä Board’s Marjo Halonen agreed, calling the quality of visitors “surprisingly high”. The exhibition provided inspiration, with the Innovation Lab offering circular packaging solutions that utilise renewable resources and reduce the use of plastic. The feedback was overwhelming, exceeding expectations.
The organisers were equally pleased with the turnout, with 2,807 exhibitors from 155 countries showcasing the power and creativity of the packaging industry. Bernd Jablonowski, executive director at Messe Düsseldorf, praised the exhibition as a global platform for the sector, exceeding all targets.
Approximately 143,000 visitors came to Interpack, with two-thirds from outside Germany. In addition to many European countries, key visitor nations included India, Japan, and the USA. The trade fair proved essential for suppliers and users alike, with 96% of visitors achieving their trade fair objectives.
Sustainability was a top priority for exhibitors, with efficiency and sustainability being showcased along an entire production line. Packaging materials and supplies were also a major focus, with over 1,000 exhibitors showcasing new products.
Specials such as the interpack Start-up Zone, Women in Packaging, and the SAVE FOOD Highlight-Route also generated buzz. The next Interpack is set to take place in Düsseldorf from 7 to 13 May 2026.
Interpack truly was the only place to be for anyone involved in the food packaging industry. From circular packaging solutions to sustainable production lines, the exhibition provided invaluable inspiration for attendees.
