Eco Flexibles shortlisted in two categories at the UK Packaging Awards 2026

Eco Flexibles shortlisted in two categories at the UK Packaging Awards 2026 Flexible packaging, food and drink packaging, food and drink sustainable packaging, Food packaging Food and Beverage Business

Eco Flexibles has secured two shortlists at the prestigious UK Packaging Awards, highlighting its ongoing contribution to sustainable flexible packaging and its response to evolving food and beverage industry trends.

The awards recognise outstanding achievement across the UK’s print and packaging sector. Eco Flexibles has been shortlisted for:

Best Packaging of a New Product – Booja-Booja Hot Chocolate
Innovation of the Year – Just. Greens Health Powders

For Booja-Booja’s Hot Chocolate range, Eco Flexibles created a recyclable mono-PP pouch that combines strong shelf presence with the technical performance required for premium food packaging. The structure provides the moisture barrier necessary to safeguard the product while supporting a more sustainable packaging format.

The pouch features water-based digital printing produced on the Fujifilm Jet Press FP790. This process delivers detailed graphics and a refined matte finish. Following the success of the original launch, the range has expanded with five additional SKUs in 2026.

Eco Flexibles took a different approach for Just. Greens by developing a paper-based pouch intended for full recyclability through established paper recycling streams. The format offers an alternative to conventional plastic supplement containers and reflects growing food and drink sustainability priorities.

To achieve the required visual quality and product protection, the pouch combines water-based Fujifilm CMYK+W inkjet printing with in-house material screening. The project demonstrates how paper-based flexible packaging can deliver both functionality and presentation, supporting food and drink industry innovation without compromising the consumer experience.

These developments reflect wider food manufacturing trends, including the adoption of advanced food processing technology, more responsible food and drink packaging, and packaging solutions that align with changing food and drink consumer trends. They also support brands responding to food and drink regulations, food distribution trends and the increasing role of food and drink marketing in communicating sustainability credentials.

“The UK Packaging Awards are always a highlight in the calendar,” Simon Buswell, Eco Flexibles’ Sales and Marketing Director, noted. “It’s a real pleasure to be shortlisted in two categories, especially by everyone who put so much work into getting those products off the ground.”

“We value working with brands that perfectly complement Eco Flexibles’ ethos. Companies like Booja-Booja and Conscious Brands show that the need is there for innovative sustainable packaging solutions. As more brands recognise that recycling and sustainability aren’t going away, we intend to keep leading the way in showing what is possible for the industry.”
