Toblerone is making significant strides in the premium chocolate market with a highly awaited debut of three innovative products.

These new offerings aim to refresh both daily snacking and seasonal gifting experiences. The iconic brand from Mondelēz International is introducing Toblerone Biscoff Diamond Truffles, an accessible range of 100g bars, and a special edition Crispy Caramel block weighing 340g.

The impetus behind this product expansion is the rising demand for premium confectionery. Currently, the upscale chocolate category surpasses the broader market and is projected to increase by 13%. Enhanced flavor profiles and distinctive textures are key factors driving this growth; research indicates that 70% of shoppers actively seek out innovative food products and intriguing taste combinations.

Additionally, broader economic trends reveal that chocolate plays a crucial role as an emotional boost for consumers. Around 72% of people view premium chocolate as an attainable luxury during difficult financial times. By venturing into the premium block chocolate arena—an estimated UK market expected to reach £420 million by 2030—Toblerone is strategically positioned to cater to both high-end gifting and casual evening indulgences.

Each product in the new lineup targets a specific consumer occasion:

  • Toblerone Biscoff Diamond Truffles: Building on the global Biscoff craze, these truffles feature a creamy Biscoff spread filling combined with crunchy Toblerone nougat bits, all enveloped in a signature diamond-shaped milk chocolate exterior.
  • The 100g Bar Range: This new collection, which emphasizes everyday indulgence, includes popular flavors such as Milk, White Chocolate, and the recently launched Crispy Caramel.
  • Limited-Edition Crispy Caramel (340g): This larger block merges Toblerone’s classic milk chocolate with crispy salted caramel pieces, designed particularly for the festive gifting season.

Toblerone’s new range is specifically aimed at appealing to younger consumers, including young adults and affluent shoppers. The brand has made notable progress within this demographic, boosting its market share among younger buyers by 3.6 percentage points in the past two years.

Ristika Dara Ninggar, brand manager for Toblerone at Mondelēz International, emphasized the rationale behind the launch: “Shoppers are increasingly seeking indulgent, premium experiences and exciting flavour combinations… We are confident this launch will help retailers attract younger shoppers, drive incremental sales and bring new energy to the premium gifting category.”

By integrating lower-cost options like the 100g bars with premium gifts such as the Biscoff Truffles, Toblerone effectively targets Gen Z and Millennial audiences who aim to enjoy treats while maintaining budget-friendly habits.
