Nestlé has introduced a new blend called Sinergity that incorporates the strain B. infantis LMG11588. This strain has been proven through Nestlé’s research to effectively absorb and metabolize HMOs, resulting in beneficial compounds for human health. HMOs are a significant component of human milk, known for their health benefits, including promoting a healthy infant gut microbiome and supporting brain development and a well-balanced immune system.

The combination of this probiotic with six HMOs in Sinergity offers synergistic effects, leading to a dominance of bifidobacteria in the gut and increased metabolic activity. This results in a more favorable gut environment and stronger immunity in infants. Sinergity offers the widest range of HMOs used in Nestlé infant formula to date, including the newly added 3FL, which helps infants develop a microbiome similar to breastfed infants.

To meet the specific needs of infants based on age, products containing the new blend have varying levels of six different HMOs. Nestlé is committed to groundbreaking research and collaboration with healthcare professionals to provide optimal nutrition in early childhood.

“Nestlé is a pioneer in early-life science-based solutions, and we have achieved an innovative breakthrough by combining our proprietary B. infantis probiotic with a blend of six HMOs,” stated Isabelle Bureau-Franz, Head of Nestlé’s R&D for nutrition.

The new blend has been launched in Hong Kong and will be rolled out in Latin America and Europe under the NAN Supreme pro brand. Nestlé was the first company to introduce infant formula containing a complex of five HMOs globally, and currently offers products with HMOs in over 50 countries.

Scientific studies have highlighted the health benefits of HMOs, including their positive effects on gut microbiome composition, immune markers, and overall gut health. In the food and beverage industry, trends, manufacturing advancements, technological innovations, distribution strategies, and consumer preferences play a significant role. In addition, sustainability, regulations, packaging, marketing, and consumer trends are key factors shaping the industry.

Nestlé’s introduction of Sinergity reflects their commitment to staying ahead of industry trends and meeting the evolving needs of consumers. By leveraging their research capabilities, Nestlé continues to develop and deliver groundbreaking nutritional solutions for infants, promoting growth, digestive health, cognitive development, and a strong immune system.
