The government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region’s Centre for Food Safety also discovered the presence of pesticide in samples of MDH and Everest spice products, leading to a ban on the sale of these goods. In Singapore, regulators found carcinogenic chemicals in products from both companies, triggering a product recall to prevent potential health risks associated with ethylene oxide exposure.
In Australia, Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) is currently investigating contamination claims regarding spice mixes from MDH and Everest. This investigation may lead to a recall of these products in Australia, similar to actions taken in Hong Kong and Singapore.
