Homegrown Brands announces SVB Foods' inclusion in their integrated family Food and Beverage Business

Homegrown Brands, a US-based accelerator for the CPG industry, recently completed an integration with condiments and dressings business SVB Foods. The combined company, operating under the Homegrown Brands name, aims to enhance market position and pursue future growth objectives.

This strategic action was driven by Homegrown Brands’ desire to expand its business portfolio and partner with a high-growth food company. SVB Foods, known for its work with premium brands and innovation in product offerings, is an ideal fit for this integration.

SVB Foods, headquartered in West Virginia, operates a 70,000-square-foot production facility and specializes in manufacturing condiments, including salad dressings, marinades, and sauces. Last week, SVB Foods acquired local peer Vita Specialty Foods, further strengthening its position in the market.

Homegrown Brands, located in West River, Maryland, was founded by the creators of Tessemae’s, a renowned producer of organic dressings, marinades, and condiments. Greg Vetter, the CEO of Homegrown Brands and the “creation director” at Tessemae’s, believes that this integration with SVB Foods presents a game-changing opportunity for both companies. It will significantly enhance their scale and ability to meet the growing needs of their customer base.

Greg Vetter reiterated the importance of this integration, stating, “Uniting with SVB Foods was a game-changing opportunity. This development aligns well with our priorities going forward as it will significantly enhance our scale and ability to meet the growing needs of our customer base.”

The integration between SVB Foods and Specialty Foods has harmonized the two entities, creating a seamless operation. SVB Foods recently acquired Vita Specialty Foods, a Virginia-based company known for its diverse portfolio of food products, including Vidalia Onion Vinaigrette. With shared commitments to quality and innovation, merging with Homegrown Brands is an attractive proposition for both companies.

Terry Hess, CEO of SVB Foods, expressed enthusiasm about this collaboration, saying, “The prospect of joining forces with a company that was so complementary to ours was attractive on a host of fronts, our shared commitment to quality and innovation being the most important.”
