Switzerland-based IDAK Food Group is selling potato products and snacks producer Kadi to domestic private-equity investor Invision.
Invision will acquire a majority interest in the Langenthal-based company, while Kadi’s management team will retain a minority stake.
Kadi was the central asset in the strategy that ultimately established today’s IDAK Food Group.
Invision and fellow private-equity firm Nord Holding first bought a majority stake in Kadi in 2018. They subsequently used the business as a platform to expand IDAK into a pan-European frozen-food group.
The two investors exited the business in 2024, transferring their majority holding to TowerBrook Capital Partners.
Kadi is now returning to Invision’s portfolio as IDAK reorganises its operations around the bakery and baked-goods sector.
The transaction follows IDAK’s acquisition in January of French bakery company Onoré. Based in Toulouse, Onoré supplies bakery products, pastries, desserts and Cornish pasties to customers throughout Europe.
IDAK Food Group employs approximately 2,400 people and records annual revenue of more than SFr480m. Its brand portfolio includes Romers Hausbäckerei, Margherita, Gusto Sorrento and ProPizza.
The group produces frozen food across 18 manufacturing sites, primarily serving retail and foodservice customers. Its products are distributed in more than 50 countries.
Kadi manufactures both chilled and frozen food products. In 2025, it employed around 190 people and reported turnover exceeding SFr90m ($110.5m).
IDAK said it will now concentrate solely on baked goods, adding that separating Kadi from the group will play a “key role in enabling both companies to pursue their respective growth strategies with sharper focus”.
Alexandre Vigneron, IDAK’s CEO, joined the group through the Onoré acquisition. He said: “With our clear concentration on the baked goods sector, we are sharpening our strategic focus on high-quality bakery products that are sold and consumed worldwide. Furthermore, highly complementary production processes will enable us to target our investments more effectively, strengthening our competitive position and accelerating our international growth.”
Kadi will remain under the leadership of its current management team following the change in ownership.
Christof Lehmann, IDAK Food Group’s former CEO, will take up the role of chairman of Kadi’s board. He will also continue to serve on IDAK Food Group’s board.
