Pladis Introduces New Trending Variant to McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Lineup

pladis adds trending variant to McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes range

Pladis is excited to announce the introduction of a new and popular flavor to its renowned McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes line: McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Hot Honey Flavour.

This limited edition combines the delightful sweetness of honey with a hint of chilli heat, enveloping a delicious jelly that sits atop a light sponge cake base, all coated in the signature crackly dark chocolate of Jaffa Cakes.

“This launch builds on the success of limited edition Jaffa Cola Bottle, where hot honey is a flavour that’s trending globally amid a bigger movement that’s seen people embrace sweet and spicy across a wide range of food products,” explains Jessica Woolfrey, marketing manager, pladis UK&I.

Moreover, we understand that consumers are increasingly seeking new and exciting flavors. The ‘swicy’ trend—combining sweet and spicy—has gained immense popularity, boasting a significant following on social media and

across the culinary landscape.

“We are once again demonstrating our category leadership by launching a unique new flavour. This ‘heat meets sweet’ trend has taken the savoury world by storm, and now we’re ready to boldly bring it into Jaffa Cakes. It packs a punch and has the ability to drive buzz, especially among younger consumers, just like Jaffa Cola Bottle did.”

To support the McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes core range, we have crafted a comprehensive public relations strategy alongside an extensive above-the-line and social media campaign in the coming months. Additionally, we will implement in-store point-of-sale activation. Notably, McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes boasts a significant £70.7m RSV brand value in the UK (NIQ Data MAT to 17 May 2025 Total Coverage incl Euros excl Bargain Stores).

Currently, McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Hot Honey (RRP £1.50, PMP £1.49) is available at Asda and will soon roll out more widely to other multiple retailers, wholesale depots, and convenience stores.
