Richard Hampton, an experienced figure within the food and beverage industry, is set to take up his new role on 3 June 2024. As part of his responsibilities, he will oversee the AHDB international trade development team’s collaboration with the UK Government and the wider industry to maximize global growth opportunities for its levy payers.

With a background in developing and transforming businesses, Hampton has worked extensively with FMCG, food and drink, retail, and agriculture sector stakeholders. He spent over 18 years at the Organic Milk Suppliers Co-Operative (Omsco), where he held various senior positions, including nearly seven years as managing director. During this time, he gained international experience in foreign markets and negotiated export agreements, particularly in the dairy and red meat sectors.

Additionally, Hampton served on the Department for International Trade’s Trade Advisory Group for 18 months and was vice chair of the Food and Drink Federation’s Organic Committee. The AHDB, a statutory levy board funded by farmers and growers, prioritizes international trade development as a crucial aspect of its mission to help the industry thrive.

Graham Wilkinson, AHDB chief executive, expressed his enthusiasm for Hampton’s upcoming appointment, stating that his global experience will greatly benefit the organization in delivering for its levy payers. Wilkinson emphasized the importance of expanding global trade opportunities for British red meat and dairy products.
