In 2023, the most searched environmental questions on the AI platform Ubuntoo were related to “EMISSIONS” and “plastic packaging”.
Following closely, “energy” emerged as the third most searched topic, indicating a growing interest in the transition and adoption of clean energy systems.
Climate, biodiversity, and agriculture were also identified as key topics for users of the platform.
Ubuntoo, a groundbreaking AI system for environmental practitioners, was launched last month. This innovative platform is already being utilized by teams at Fortune 500 companies including The Coca Cola Company, Target, and Subway.
What sets Ubuntoo apart from other large language AI platforms is its expert database developed over five years, which provides users with curated solutions and intelligence.
Driven by former vice presidents at Coca-Cola, Peter Schelstraete and Venkatesh Kini, the platform offers action-based solutions on a wide variety of topics such as plastic reduction, recycling, energy transition, food & agriculture, and supply chain efficiencies.
Recent example questions to the AI platform include “Are there biodegradable coatings for waterproofing?” and “what are two ways to drive down emissions at a skincare company?”.
One of the platform’s success stories involves The Clorox Company, which partnered with Ubuntoo to meet its sustainability targets. Ubuntoo provided solutions for reusable, refillable, and sustainable packaging materials, leading to a significant reduction in emissions.
As a result of these efforts, Clorox has achieved a remarkable 85 percent progress towards its goal of 100 percent recyclable, reusable, or compostable packaging by 2025, and has been recognized as the “Most Sustainable US Company” in 2023 by Barron.
Peter Schelstraete, Co-Founder of Ubuntoo, commented:
“It’s encouraging to see such high rankings for emissions and plastic packaging reduction on the Ubuntoo platform. We are helping big name companies to find solutions which are both commercially and environmentally sustainable.”
Sian Sutherland, Co-Founder, A Plastic Planet & PlasticFree, added:
“With the UN Global Plastic Treaty currently being negotiated, now more than ever we need rapid access to high-quality knowledge and solutions for sustainable packaging. It is only through collective action, real investment, and shared information that we will be able to shift to a truly circular economy.”
