SCREEN, a leading manufacturer of innovative inkjet digital printing equipment, is now accepting orders for the Truepress PAC 830F. This high-speed, water-based inkjet system is specifically designed for flexible packaging, addressing the growing demand for secure and sustainable packaging solutions in the food and drink industry.

SCREEN recognizes the evolving preference of flexible packaging companies to transition towards efficient small to medium lot printing, minimizing environmental impact. In response, SCREEN GA announced the development of a new inkjet system in 2020, which has since been fine-tuned based on valuable customer feedback. The result of these efforts is the introduction of the Truepress PAC 830F.

The Truepress PAC 830F is a cutting-edge, water-based inkjet system that offers exceptional safety and color consistency. It utilizes drop-on-demand inkjet technology to print on media up to 830 millimeters wide, achieving an impressive industry-leading speed of 75 meters per minute with a resolution of 1,200 dpi x 1,200 dpi. With its built-in primer coater that enhances ink adherence, the system can reach a resolution of 1,200 dpi. Moreover, the Truepress PAC 830F utilizes CMYK and white water-based inks that adhere to food safety regulations.

To ensure optimal performance, the Truepress PAC 830F is equipped with an advanced digital front end (DFE) called EQUIOS, which has been specifically optimized for this inkjet system. Working in conjunction with SCREEN GA’s Truepress JET and Truepress LABEL series, EQUIOS enables high-speed printing and sophisticated color management.

Collaboration with Chiyoda Gravure

SCREEN GA and Chiyoda Gravure Corporation have formed a strategic partnership to drive the adoption of digital printing for flexible packaging materials, leveraging the capabilities of the Truepress PAC 830F.

In light of the increasing global emphasis on sustainability in production and consumer preferences for diversified small lot packaging, traditional gravure printing methods face challenges such as low productivity, operator strain, and significant product wastage. To tackle these issues, Chiyoda and SCREEN GA have jointly installed the Truepress PAC 830F at Chiyoda’s facility. Their shared mission is to advance the use of digital printing in flexible packaging, expand its applications, optimize the digital workflow, and overcome challenges associated with small to medium lot production.

Grounded in their corporate philosophies and commitment to innovation for sustainability, this collaboration aims to enhance working conditions in flexible packaging production and elevate print quality. Their continuous efforts will focus on developing solutions for longstanding challenges in small and medium lot production, ultimately contributing to the digital transformation of the flexible packaging market.
