Mondi, a global leader in sustainable packaging and paper, will present its innovative sustainable packaging solutions at this year’s Scanpack, targeting a diverse array of end-markets in food and drink packaging.
The packaging expert will display a selection of tailored solutions from its broad packaging portfolio, which combines paper, plastic, or both materials. These solutions have been developed through close collaboration with customers and include:
One of the world’s first printed mono-material vacuum packaging for ground coffee, designed for recycling. This packaging, created in partnership with Finnish coffee producer Paulig, replaces traditional multi-layer laminates with an aluminum layer, offering the same high barrier properties and product protection while featuring an easy-opening design.
FunctionalBarrier Paper range – fiber-based packaging alternatives enhanced with a barrier, recyclable in current paper waste streams across Europe as part of Mondi’s re/cycle portfolio. This fiber-based packaging is versatile, suitable for many industrial and FMCG end markets, and particularly effective for eCommerce applications.
The re/cycle FlexiBag has enabled Svenska Hundfoder AB to transition its entire pet food range to recyclable packaging. Mondi’s re/cycle FlexiBag is a pre-made mono-material polyethylene (PE) bag, designed for recycling, which replaces the company’s previous multi-layer solution. Moreover, Mondi will showcase the re/loop FlexiBag Reinforced, a cost-effective mono-PE solution with enhanced mechanical properties and optional post-consumer recycled content.
re/cycle RollPack – Mondi partnered with Orkla to launch a mono-material refill packaging solution for marmalade and jam in the Swedish market. This recycling-friendly mono-polyethylene solution replaces previous multi-laminate packaging, providing essential oxygen barrier properties while ensuring good puncture resistance. It is optimized for high-speed packaging machines, facilitating straightforward transportation.
The newly launched Ad/Vantage Smooth Brown Semi Extensible is Mondi’s smooth-finished, brown kraft paper grade. This high-puncture resistant paper packaging can be coated for heat-sealing applications, making it ideal for form fill and seal (FFS) processes in various packaging sectors, including food and drink sustainable packaging, construction parts, and dry food items.
