2M GROUP OF COMPANIES has entered into a multi-year commercial supply agreement with Transcend Packaging to roll out Xampla’s plastic-free Morro™ Coating across the UK.
This innovative coating, which is free from plastic and PFAS, will be produced at scale at the 2M Group of Companies’ facility located in Milton Keynes. It will be supplied through the new venture, Sustainable Packaging Technologies.
Morro™ Coating will specifically be applied to selected paper board applications from Transcend Packaging. This development provides a low-cost, high-strength grease barrier perfect for quick-service restaurants (QSR), enhancing food and drink packaging solutions.
This new partnership emphasizes the companies’ shared commitment to sustainability. It aligns with ongoing initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact through advanced and effective food and drink sustainable packaging solutions.
Classified as a natural plant polymer and exempt from the Single Use Plastics Directive, Morro™ materials offer significant advantages for businesses seeking to adapt to evolving regulatory frameworks. Additionally, they support customers in reducing plastic usage as part of their sustainability objectives.
Alexandra French, CEO of Xampla, remarked:
“This new partnership is part of our rapid scale-up of Morro™ Coating in the marketplace.
