Mondi, a global frontrunner in sustainable packaging and paper solutions, has joined forces with Özler Tarım, a premier exporter of fresh fruits and vegetables in Türkiye. Together, they are co-developing a tailored sustainable packaging solution that not only protects products but also optimizes operational processes in food and drink packaging.
Since its inception in 1982, Özler Tarım has exported high-quality, fresh produce to diverse markets including Japan, Canada, the United States, Europe, as well as countries in the United Kingdom and East Asia. The company is committed to reducing food waste and sought to enhance its packaging to better accommodate humidity, temperature variations, and the demands of long-distance shipments.
Mondi’s team of product innovation experts collaborated closely with Özler Tarım to create a robust, sustainable, and efficient packaging solution. The newly designed packaging features a double-wall corrugated fibre structure and a flat-stackable design, effectively streamlining both production and shipping processes. As a result, Özler Tarım has achieved a remarkable 15% increase in production capacity at its Adana facility, and costs related to packaging defects, such as compensation for damaged goods, have been completely eliminated.
