In pursuit of enhancing sustainability in food and drink packaging, Lamb Weston has introduced innovative bags that assist our operators in achieving their environmental objectives by diverting fry product bags from landfills.
All paper fry bags for operators are now crafted from bio-based and recycled* materials. “Our Packaging Innovation team did extensive testing to ensure the new and improved bags performed from packing on the product line, shipping throughout the supply chain, and landing safely in our customers’ hands,” said Michael Grandinetti, Packaging Engineer.
The newly designed bags offer several benefits:
• Easy to recycle: Simply empty the paper bag and dispose of it in a cardboard or paper recycling collection bin.
• Easy to open: Designed to open at the center, our bags require no scissors or razors.
• Heat resistant: The packaging maintains its integrity and will not melt near a fryer.
Lamb Weston is dedicated to advancing sustainable packaging solutions, with a commitment to reducing waste, lowering emissions, conserving water, and forging strong partnerships with suppliers.
Our efforts in packaging align with Lamb Weston’s long-term sustainability goals. Recently, we published our fifth Sustainability Report, which focuses on our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, highlighting our global objectives, actions, and achievements during the 2023 fiscal year.

The degree of recyclability (exclusively within the United States & Canada) will depend on the scope and availability of collection, sortation, and recycling programs.
