Eviosys, a leader in sustainable food and drink packaging, is pleased to announce the release of the new, lighter version of its Horizon™ metal lid. This innovative solution reduces CO2 emissions by 33% compared to the previous version, aligning with the growing demand for recyclable packaging solutions among consumers and stricter regulations.

Enhanced Sustainability with Reduced Emissions

In June 2023, Eviosys introduced the first version of the Horizon™ overcap – a recyclable metal lid designed for various markets, such as infant formula, tea, coffee, and biscuits. The new version of Horizon™ takes sustainability to the next level by further reducing its weight, resulting in a 33% decrease in CO2 emissions compared to its predecessor. With a weight reduction from 15 to 5.8 grams for a 99 diameter can, Horizon™ is now fully optimized, offering a single-material metal solution that is infinitely recyclable.

Supporting Brands in Transitioning to Recyclables

As legislative regulations around plastic usage become more stringent, Eviosys aims to assist companies in meeting these requirements with Horizon™. Unlike plastics, metal can be recycled continuously without losing its properties, contributing to a sustainable packaging solution. A survey shows that 45% of companies plan to adopt fully recyclable packaging within the next one to three years, emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices in the industry.

Enhancing Consumer Experience

Consumers appreciate the convenience of resealable tins for preserving products like biscuits and powders, thus reducing food waste. Made of durable metal, Horizon™ offers longevity and strength, maintaining its quality over time compared to plastic overcaps.

Marketing Director at Eviosys, Laetitia Durafour, emphasizes the importance of transitioning to recyclable materials to meet upcoming regulations by 2030, ensuring a sustainable end-of-life solution for products.

Customization and Quality Production

Horizon™ offers full customization options through Eviosys’ studio service, including digital printing and fast creation of functional prototypes. The advanced color control technology ensures consistency in printing across different factories, guaranteeing high-quality production tailored to each brand’s graphic identity.
