SleeveConnect represents the pinnacle of excellence in shrink sleeve technology. This groundbreaking initiative showcases the remarkable synergy achieved through the collaboration of four industry giants: Emsur, a global leader in flexible packaging; Karlville, an industry leader in cutting-edge machinery; Siegwerk, a globally renowned provider of customized inks and coatings; and SK microworks, a prominent name in film industry. Together, they have given rise to an ingenious packaging solution that not only facilitates striking bottle designs but also champions environmental sustainability.

Utilizing washable inks, the rPET bottle’s c-pet sleeve offers an easily recyclable monomaterial. This innovation allows for the incorporation of advancements in the recycling process, such as a digital watermark for accurate detection during sorting. With this eco-friendly solution, the SleeveConnect project prioritizes both impactful designs and sustainable practices in food and drink packaging.

The bottle produced by the innovative start-up “BTC Concept” boasts a high-quality shelf impact. This is achieved through the use of a high-opacity white sleeve, which enhances the visual “body” of the design. Additionally, this sleeve is 100% recycling friendly under the correct reprocessing conditions. The various finishes available, such as Soft Touch or Matt Effect, further enhance the appeal of the product by showcasing the endless possibilities in printing the sleeve.

Uncolored bottles are poised to become a vital source of high-quality recyclate in the future. The SleeveConnect solution serves as an ideal complement for any type of transparent bottle. The production process, executed on Karlville machines, involves the utilization of washable inks and coatings from Siegwerk, along with C-Pet shrink film from SK microworks, after the sleeve has been processed in Emsur. This seamless collaboration ensures the creation of sustainable and visually stunning bottles.

The #SleeveConnect project will make its debut at the trade fair Labelexpo Europe, the world’s largest event for the label and package printing industry. From 11 to 14 September, visitors can witness the production process of these innovative and sustainable bottles firsthand at the Karlville Booth.
