US dairy group Schreiber Foods has announced a significant investment of $211 million at its cheese production plant located in Carthage, Missouri.
Headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Schreiber Foods specializes in the production of an array of products, including cream cheese, natural cheese, processed cheese, yogurt, and beverages.
The upcoming project entails the construction of a new 168,000 ft2 production facility, which will be outfitted with “state-of-the-art” technology.
This expansion is projected to create 150 new jobs, enhancing the local economy.
Schreiber Foods stated that this initiative will boost its process-cheese capabilities throughout the United States, while supporting its “ongoing efforts” to collaborate with customers and address the “increasing demand” in the market.
Groundbreaking for the new facility is scheduled for January, with a completion date targeting 2027.
Ron Dunford, president and CEO of Schreiber Foods, remarked: “This expansion underscores our commitment to innovation, quality, our customers, and the Carthage community, as we work to do good through food in everything we do.”
Since establishing its presence in Carthage in 1950, Schreiber Foods has employed over 1,300 individuals across its existing facilities.
Furthermore, the company is actively exploring options to expand the scope of this project even further.
With a global reach across five continents, Schreiber Foods employs more than 10,000 people and generates annual sales exceeding $7 billion.
