T.C. Morris, a prominent manufacturer of meat-based snacks, has successfully transitioned from their longstanding location in Willenhall to a larger, more advanced facility in Dudley. This move, spearheaded by chief executive and fourth-generation family member Charlotte Tennant, comes on the heels of significant growth within the company.

To enhance its operations, T.C. Morris has expanded its team by recruiting five new employees. Furthermore, the company has exciting plans to introduce apprenticeship opportunities in the near future.

Commenting on this pivotal move, Tennant stated: “With the support of managing director, Allan Jones, together we have worked hard to increase our customer base, expand our product range and we are now exploring export opportunities.

Team Loyalty

“To meet demand, we relocated to bigger premises in Dudley. We are proud that all our existing employees stayed with us as part of the move – some of whom have been with us for more than 40 years.”

Instead of turning to conventional lenders for financing, T.C. Morris was connected with UKSE by Birmingham-based Central Business Finance.

“The funding from UKSE has provided us with the working capital to continue to operate during the move,” Tennant explained. “Mike and Steve have been a great support to us and genuinely want us to succeed.”

Stimulating the Economy

UKSE plays a critical role in providing loans and equity packages of up to £1m to stimulate growth, create local job opportunities, and enhance the economy. So far, UKSE has invested over £115m, supporting around 8,000 businesses and catalyzing the creation of an estimated 83,000 new jobs.

UKSE regional executive Mike Lowe stated: “At UKSE our aim is to support businesses to grow, innovate and create job opportunities. Charlotte and the team at T.C. Morris are a great Black Country success story and we were delighted to be able to support their growth plans.”

In a related development, premium spirits producer Gravity Drinks has secured a £4.5m finance package aimed at supporting export growth and addressing seasonal spikes in international demand.

This financial package, provided by HSBC, consists of a receivables finance facility of £3m and a trade finance facility of £1.5m, the latter being guaranteed by the government’s export credit agency, UK Export Finance.
