Mallows Bottling, a prominent drinks manufacturer and bottler, has successfully secured new contracts, leading to an anticipated £700,000 increment in annual revenue.

One noteworthy contract involves a partnership with Caterforce, a buying group comprising 11 members, including notable companies like Castell Howell and Forest Fresh Foods. Additionally, Mallows Bottling is collaborating with Food and Drink Wales to penetrate the foodservice and cash and carry markets.

This new production line, bolstered by support from the Business Wales Accelerated Growth Programme (AGP), has also allowed Mallows Bottling to expand its workforce by hiring three additional team members.

The introduction of the five-litre format significantly reduces packaging waste, enabling customers to purchase larger volumes. This initiative not only aligns with efforts to minimize single-use plastics but also provides a more economical solution for consumers.

The new squash range includes popular flavors such as orange, blackcurrant, apple & blackcurrant, lime, lemon, and summer fruits.

Mallows Bottling now stands as the largest contract bottler for spirits in Wales, boasting over 200 products across both alcoholic and non-alcoholic categories. The company employs 35 individuals at its 30,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art bottling facility located in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

“We saw a clear opportunity to offer a cost-effective, large-format squash range that meets customer needs and supports the hospitality sector during a tough trading period,” stated Mallows Bottling managing director, Rhys Mallows.

“The response has been very positive, already generating significant value for the business. It’s also helped us expand the team and open up fresh routes to market.”

Richard Morris, programme director for AGP, commented: “Mallows Bottling is a great example of a business that’s constantly evolving and seeking out new growth opportunities. Rhys and Andy have a strong sense of the market’s needs and are not afraid to move quickly.”

“This expansion into squash demonstrates the power of combining insight, agility, and ambition – and we’re proud to support them through the AGP.”
