Kayco, a US-based supplier and distributor of kosher and specialty foods, has acquired Paramount Foods, a family-owned business based in New Jersey.

Paramount Foods, founded in 2006 and headquartered in Long Hill Township, specializes in supplying bulk nuts, dried fruits, and grains to supermarkets throughout northern New Jersey.

The company also offers an extensive selection of “natural and organic healthy snacks” that cater to health-conscious consumers.

While the specific financial terms of this acquisition were not disclosed, its strategic nature was highlighted in Kayco’s announcement.

Kayco stated that this “strategic acquisition” underscores its commitment to expanding its portfolio, enhancing distribution in the Northeast, and delivering “unmatched value to its retail partners.”

Harold Weiss, Kayco’s Chief Sales Officer, emphasized, “This acquisition reflects our vision to expand our assortment and further enhance our distribution network in the critical north-east corridor.”

“By bringing Paramount Foods into the Kayco family, we’re not only broadening our brand offerings but also improving service levels and cost efficiencies for our retail partners. The Paramount portfolio will augment our current assortment on a global scale.”

With this acquisition, Kayco seeks to bolster its market presence and enhance “its ability to meet the diverse needs of customers and retailers alike.”

David Carn, the current owner of Paramount Foods, shared optimism regarding the acquisition, stating that Kayco’s “scale, expertise, and commitment to innovation will ensure that we can collectively achieve more – both for our customers and for the families who depend on us.”

Notably, Kayco emerged from the merger of Kedem Foods, Kenover Marketing, and B&W Foods in 2019.

The company’s products are currently available in “over 30 countries” and can be found at both independent grocers and major supermarket chains across the US.

Kayco boasts a portfolio of “over 80 brands,” including prominent names like Manischewitz, Kedem, Gefen, and Tuscanini.
