Skene has been a part of the Victoria-based company for 14 years. Despite resigning as CEO, he will remain with the organization for up to three months to aid in the transition to a new CEO.
According to an announcement made today (17 June) to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), AHF is actively recruiting a new CEO and will update the market accordingly in line with its disclosure obligations.
Reflecting on Skene’s leadership at the helm of the company, AHF chair Peter Nathan expressed gratitude for Skene’s significant dedication and pivotal role in building the business over the past decade.
“We wish him all the best in his future endeavors. As we navigate through this transition, we want to assure our stakeholders that the board remains committed to the success of AHF,” Nathan added.
Skene had been serving as CEO of the company since July 2016.
In April, Bernard Kavanagh resigned as chair of AHF for personal reasons, resulting in Skene assuming the added responsibility of interim chair.
By May, AHF had taken actions to enhance the board’s independence, with Nathan, formerly CEO of the Asia-Pacific region at the A2 Milk Co., succeeding Skene as chair of the company in June.
AHF operates as a vertically-integrated business with ownership of dairy farms and a processing facility in south-west Victoria. The company manufactures the Ocean Road Dairies Organic A2 infant-formula range at its Camperdown facility.
Following a strategic business focus announced in late 2022, the company ceased fresh milk production at the Camperdown site to concentrate on infant formula and other dairy nutritionals such as milk powders.
