LSDH Acquires French Biscuit Manufacturer Chambord

LSDH Acquires French Biscuit Manufacturer Chambord Bakery and Cereal Food and Beverage Business

French food and drink company LSDH is poised to acquire Chambord, a local biscuit manufacturer, for an undisclosed amount. This recent development was confirmed by the economic development agency Dev’Up Centre-Val de Loire earlier this week.

The acquisition follows the retirement of Chambord’s director, signaling a pivotal transition for the artisanal biscuit brand. Established in 1978, Chambord employs approximately 50 people and operates two production facilities along with 11 retail outlets in the Centre-Val de Loire region.

As noted on its website, Biscuiterie Chambord boasts a 3,000m² facility in Maslives, featuring both workshop and retail spaces. The company specializes in a variety of sweet and savory baked goods, including unique offerings like goat’s cheese bites and cherry and chocolate petit fours. LSDH reports that Chambord also presents a diverse line of gastronomic products, emphasizing regional expertise.

“We wish to continue the development of the Biscuiterie de Chambord by relying on committed teams with recognized skills,” said Emmanuel Vasseneix, CEO of LSDH, in the Dev’Up statement. “We are convinced that the synergies with the group will allow us to consolidate and accelerate the development of this great company.”

In a separate announcement, LSDH highlighted that this acquisition aligns with its long-term diversification strategy. Dev’Up remarked that Biscuiterie de Chambord is “strengthening its growth trajectory by relying on a recognized player committed to production in France and the development of the territories.”

Headquartered in Centre-Val de Loire, LSDH operates in two main sectors: liquid foods and salads and catering. As of last year, the company employed over 2,000 staff and has a presence across six regions with ten production sites and a logistics facility in France.

Recently, LSDH expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of Bonduelle’s packaged salad business, a deal finalized in July. Originally announced in August 2024, this acquisition involved assets that generated approximately €80 million in sales, according to Bonduelle.

The food and beverage industry is witnessing significant shifts, and this strategic acquisition demonstrates LSDH’s commitment to adapting to emerging food and drink consumer trends. By leveraging its capabilities in the food and drink business, LSDH is well-positioned for expedited growth.
