Equi’s, a renowned Scottish Italian ice cream brand with a 100-year history, is set to launch three exciting new flavors tomorrow, Friday 19th July. These delectable options include Strawberry Cheesecake, Pistachio Swirl, and Chocolate Hazelnut and Raspberry, adding to their impressive list of over 50 flavors.
Based in Rutherglen, Glasgow, Equi’s is not only introducing new flavors but also unveiling a fresh look that pays homage to its Scottish Italian roots. The new logo features an illustration of Michaelangelo’s Statue of David, with a quirky twist – an ice cream cone atop its head, inspired by the iconic Duke of Wellington traffic cone in Glasgow.
This move comes as part of Equi’s growth strategy, aiming for a more than 40% increase in revenue by 2027, projecting a rise from a £3.5m turnover to £5m. David Equi, owner of Equi’s Ice Cream, expressed excitement about the new flavors, stating, “We consider ourselves innovators in Scottish ice cream, and we are thrilled to launch these delicious new options along with a fresh new look.”
The new Strawberry Cheesecake was the most challenging to develop, with the product development team testing 17 varieties of cheesecake crumble to ensure the perfect crunchy texture. Pistachio Swirl is made with 100% Italian pistachios and a rich pistachio cream ripple, while the Chocolate Hazelnut and Raspberry flavor features a secret recipe from Italy.
All Equi’s ice cream is crafted using fresh Scottish whole milk from Park Farm in East Kilbride and double cream from Park Farm and Müller. Consumers can expect to find Equi’s new look in Morrisons, ASDA, and Co-op stores throughout the year, with the new flavors available at ice cream parlors across Scotland starting from mid-July.
Moreover, 50 Morrisons stores in Scotland will offer Equi’s classic flavors with the fresh new look, including Double Cream Vanilla, Raspberry Ripple, and Scottish Tablet. With these exciting developments, Equi’s is poised to continue delighting ice cream enthusiasts with innovative flavors and a nod to their rich heritage.
