Haribo recently conducted a survey involving 500 children, aged seven to 12 years old, with the aim of determining the most unpopular treats distributed to trick or treaters on Halloween. The objective was to provide valuable insights into the treats children truly desire during this holiday. Based on the results, Haribo has compiled a definitive list of Halloween Monster Approved sweets. These selected treats bear a distinct badge of approval, serving as this year’s symbol of Halloween.
According to the research findings, the top three least favored treats handed out on Halloween are hard toffees (19%), broken biscuits (17%), and old mints (16%). Additionally, the study also revealed that a carrot (14%), stale crisps (13%), rice cakes (12%), and even cough sweets (13%) were among the worst items encountered by children during their trick or treating escapades.
Contrarily, the Halloween Monster Approved list comprises appealing options such as Fizzy Sweets, Gummy Bears, Fried Eggs, and Cola Bottles. Specifically, Haribo Tangfastics, Haribo Trick or Treat, and Haribo Giant Strawbs rank as the top Haribo sweets featured in the Halloween Monster Approved list.
Phil Murphy, the head of marketing at Haribo, emphasized the discrepancy in preferences between adults and children when it comes to the ideal Halloween treat. He acknowledged that while children dedicate considerable effort to crafting their costumes, their definition of the ultimate Halloween indulgence varies. In the interest of making Halloween a more enjoyable experience, Haribo is launching the definitive list of Halloween Monster Approved treats. This initiative aims to prevent disappointment and panic at the door, ensuring that little monsters receive the sweets they truly deserve.
In summary, Haribo’s research has shed light on the treats disliked by children during Halloween. By introducing the Halloween Monster Approved list, the company seeks to provide a selection of sweets that will satisfy young trick or treaters’ desires and contribute to a happier Halloween experience.
