>Wayne-Sanderson Farms, a leading US poultry processor, has appointed Kevin McDaniel, previously the Chief Operating Officer (COO), as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Kevin McDaniel has dedicated more than six years to Wayne-Sanderson Farms, during which he has undergone two separate tenures with the company. His ascension to the role of CEO is set for April, where he will take over from the outgoing CEO, Clint Rivers.

Clint Rivers has played a pivotal role at Wayne-Sanderson Farms, joining the organization in 2012. Over the past decade, he has served in several key positions, including COO in 2014, President and CEO in 2017, and eventually becoming Chairman in 2018.

Two years ago, Wayne Farms merged with Sanderson Farms, a significant move that solidified its position in the industry. This merger, facilitated by US agri-food giant Cargill and Continental Grain (the parent company of Wayne Farms), led to the formation of Wayne-Sanderson Farms, which proudly stands as the third-largest poultry processor in the United States.

As Rivers prepares to step down from his role on March 31, he will continue to provide guidance as the company’s executive chairman during the following fiscal year. In a heartfelt statement, Rivers expressed, “I am deeply grateful for the incredible journey I have had with Wayne-Sanderson Farms, and it has been a privilege to work alongside such a talented and dedicated team. I am very proud of what we have accomplished together over the last 12 years. While I am retiring from my role as president and CEO, I am excited to continue serving on the board of directors and supporting the company’s continued success.”

Before his tenure at Wayne-Sanderson Farms, Kevin McDaniel held the role of President at Aviagen North America and gained valuable experience in senior positions at OK Foods and Pilgrim’s Pride.

Additionally, he actively participates in industry leadership, serving on the boards of both the National Chicken Council and the US Poultry & Egg Association.

In his own words, McDaniel expressed, “I am honored that the board has selected me to succeed Clint as president and chief executive officer and want to thank him for his years of outstanding service to Wayne-Sanderson Farms.”

Furthermore, he noted, “I am excited for the bright future ahead for our organization, as we strive to achieve our vision of being the amazing poultry company, recognized as the partner of choice by our customers, co-workers, farmers, and communities.”
