In a significant move reflecting its commitment to innovation, US-based Trident Seafoods has announced a series of executive appointments, notably establishing the new position of Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Amid recent asset divestitures, the company has appointed Mike Quinn, a director on the board and a former Microsoft executive, to assume the newly created COO role. His extensive experience in the tech industry positions him well to steer Trident towards its strategic goals.
In addition to Quinn’s appointment, two seasoned professionals from within the company have received promotions. Jeff Welbourn has been named President of Trident’s US business, while Kenji Nasu takes the helm as President of the Alaskan unit.
Mike Quinn’s impressive career at Microsoft spans 25 years, where he held various leadership roles, including Vice President of Sales for Global Account Management. Furthermore, Quinn has been a member of Trident Seafoods’ board of directors for five years, contributing invaluable insights to the company’s strategic direction.
Trident Seafoods’ CEO, Joe Bundrant, commented on the leadership changes, stating, “Creating this new position and adding a proven leader like Mike is the next step in Trident’s evolution to a customer-centric, business unit-led strategy that will return value to all stakeholders.” This reinforces the company’s commitment to enhancing its operational efficiency and customer service capabilities.
Quinn added, “Trident has been an industry leader for over 50 years and, despite the unprecedented challenges in the seafood sector, I see tremendous opportunities ahead.” His perspective underscores a forward-looking vision that could redefine Trident’s market positioning.
Before assuming his new responsibilities, Welbourn was serving as the company’s Senior Vice President connected to Alaska operations. Meanwhile, Nasu previously held the position of Senior Vice President for Global Species, bringing vast expertise to their respective leadership roles.
Operating from Seattle and employing around 9,000 individuals worldwide, Trident Seafoods stands as one of the largest seafood companies in North America. Its extensive reach encompasses operational facilities across six countries, underscoring its international significance.
