To meet the growing demands of our global operations and the popularity of our Irish Cream Liqueur, we are planning to extend the Diageo Baileys Mallusk facility in Northern Ireland. This expansion will increase the current site footprint by an additional 7,477 sq m and will consist of a new single storey extension.

The proposed extension will encompass various enhancements, including additional warehouse capacity, staff facilities, solar PV, and associated external plant equipment. To cater to our expanding workforce, we will also increase staff car parking and provide EV charging points. Furthermore, the extension will feature trailer bays, improved site access, external lighting columns, and associated landscaping.

With a capital investment of £26 million, this project will not only benefit our company but also contribute to the local economy. It will generate 100 construction jobs during the development phase and approximately 35 permanent positions upon completion.

Making a statement about this substantial investment, the Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Mark Cooper, commented, “This £26 million investment by Diageo further strengthens the Borough’s reputation as a prime business location. Diageo has been successfully operating in Mallusk for over 20 years, and this additional investment highlights their commitment to the growth and development of manufacturing skills in our area. I extend my best wishes to them for a successful future.”

Councillor Robert Foster, Chair of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council’s Planning Committee, also expressed his support, saying, “I welcome this significant investment by Diageo, a world-leading drinks supplier. Mallusk is a thriving hub for the local manufacturing sector, and these new job opportunities will have a positive impact on the community, enhancing economic stability in the region.”

Diageo has embraced the challenge of environmental sustainability and aims to achieve net-zero carbon emissions at the Baileys Mallusk facility by 2030. By prioritizing this goal, we are reinforcing our commitment to address the global climate crisis.
