Berrington Pure Spring Water, the owner of the Re:Water brand, is set to inaugurate a significantly larger production facility in Herefordshire. This new site, strategically located near the existing base, is five times the size of the current operation and is slated to commence operations in February.

With enhanced capabilities, the facility will introduce additional production lines and increase stock storage, thereby solidifying supply chain security. As retailers increasingly prioritize scale, reliability, and resilience, this expansion aligns with current food and drink consumer trends.

The new site, compliant with BRC standards, will feature on-site warehousing, effectively bringing more operations in-house. This approach not only streamlines processes but also enhances the sustainability of food and drink packaging solutions, vital in today’s market.

Amid rising expectations, brands and retailers face pressure to provide credible plastic alternatives. Aluminium, known for its recyclability and circularity, is emerging as a favorable choice among consumers who value sustainable packaging.

Benjamin Rendell, director of Berrington Pure Spring Water, emphasized: “We’re growing at pace and were forecast to reach capacity at our existing site. This investment is about staying ahead of that growth. The new site gives us the space to scale properly — adding production lines, increasing stock holding and making sure everything remains in-house and under our control.”

The expanded facility also positions Re:Water to broaden its range, with a new 750ml bottle launching in 2026, following the successful introduction of the 330ml ‘mini bottle.’ Additionally, this investment supports future export growth, particularly in light of Re:Water’s King’s Award for Innovation, which has heightened global visibility.

Rhodri Lewis, director at Berrington Pure Spring Water, stated: “Consumers are moving away from single-use plastic, but they still want convenience and resealable formats they recognise and trust – and the numbers show it’s working. The new site allows us to meet that demand responsibly, while also reducing our own carbon footprint through increased on-site warehousing and fewer transport movements.”
