PulPac, the pioneering force behind Dry Molded Fiber technology, in collaboration with PA Consulting (PA), a global leader in innovation and transformation consultancy, is pleased to announce the testing of Dry Molded Fiber bottle caps with the Bottle Collective. This groundbreaking development represents a substantial advancement in fiber-based packaging, providing brand owners with a sustainable alternative that aligns with consumer preferences for eco-friendly products.

The introduction of fiber-based caps is poised to revolutionize the packaging sector, facilitating the transition to higher fiber content across a broader range of packaging solutions. By substituting traditional plastic caps with Dry Molded Fiber alternatives, companies can significantly diminish their environmental impact while offering consumers a more sustainable choice. This initiative marks the initial phase of innovative advancements in fiber-based caps and closures from PulPac and PA, with an expanded product range set to be revealed soon.

“We are thrilled to introduce this new bottle cap as part of our ongoing work with the Bottle Collective,” said Jamie Stone, design, innovation, and sustainability expert at PA Consulting. “With our latest innovation in bottle caps, we’re enabling the creation of entire bottles made from Dry Molded Fiber technology, offering a sustainable and scalable alternative to single-use packaging.”

The Bottle Collective, which includes influential members such as Diageo, Logoplaste, Haleon, and Sanofi, is a collaborative initiative established by PulPac and PA Consulting, aiming to bring Dry Molded Fiber bottles to market at scale by 2025.

PulPac’s Dry Molded Fiber technology uniquely supports a diverse array of caps and closures, empowering brands to enhance their sustainability credentials without compromising functionality. This development is aligned with global initiatives to mitigate plastic waste and promote circular economies, targeting over 95% fiber-based content in products, including caps and closures, thereby assisting companies in achieving rigorous sustainability objectives.

“We are just scratching the surface of this technology’s potential. Dry Molded Fiber products can be part of people’s lives in numerous ways, from enjoying a morning coffee on the go to preparing family dinners or serving drinks to long-awaited guests. Dry Molded Fiber can enhance these experiences with sustainable, high-performing packaging solutions,” said Sanna Fager, Chief Commercial Officer at PulPac.

Philip Fawcus, sustainable materials expert at PA Consulting, emphasized, “This bottle cap is not only a milestone in sustainable packaging but also a testament to the versatility and scalability of the Dry Molded Fiber technology. As the demand for sustainable packaging solutions continues to grow, we are proud to partner with PulPac to remain at the forefront of providing innovative alternatives that meet both environmental and market needs.”
