: Polytag, the award-winning tech company using advanced methods to transform recycling, has announced a strengthening of its team following a successful year where it has grown by 50%.

The company’s growth comes following a string of successful partnerships with UK retailers, Ocado Retail, Aldi and Co-op, alongside drinks brands such as the UK’s leading ethical drinks brand, One Water, and Welsh kombucha brand, Blighty Booch.

As part of the company’s ambitious growth plans, where it aims to help FMCG brands discover new packaging lifecycle data that can inform its sustainability plans, and remain a key player in the Digital Deposit Return Scheme area, the company has announced two key appointments.

Virlina Choquette, Head of Client Experience and Delivery at Polytag, brings over ten years of experience in strategic delivery roles and leading successful partnerships with FMCG giants such as Nestlé and Coca-Cola, to support the execution of key projects.

Phil Bisby joins as Lead Developer Engineer, with eight years’ experience in manufacturing and engineering projects. He will be responsible for testing and developing its data-capture technology, as well as investigating opportunities with AI image recognition within Material Recovery Facilities (MRF).

Alice Rackley, CEO of Polytag said: “The recycling sector has seen immense change and progress over the last few years, and we’ve worked to be a driving force in this transformation. But while we celebrate our achievements, we recognize that there is still work to do.

“Looking to the future, we predict QR codes will be a vital component on every single-use plastic product label in the next five years so, we remain focused on expanding our client base and working together to secure a closed-loop sustainable economy.”

Virlina Choquette, Head of Client Experience & Delivery at Polytag said on her appointment, “Polytag’s mission-driven approach stands out in an industry dense of sustainability initiatives. Its rapidly growing client portfolio shows how Polytag is making genuine and lasting change, working with the brands and retailers themselves to sort the issue at the source. By joining Polytag I’m playing a role in making things change for the better.”

Phil Bisby, Lead Development Engineer, Polytag said: “I am excited about spearheading the advancement of the circular economy by strategically optimizing Polytag’s hardware, systems, and cutting-edge technology. Polytag’s unique offering allows stakeholders across industries to connect directly with consumers and promote environmentally friendly practices as we push towards maximizing efficiency and sustainability. I look forward to what this next chapter has in store and helping to make the planet a greener place one brand at a time.”
