Novolex® is thrilled to announce its strategic investment in OZZI®, a Rhode Island-based reusable systems and container brand. As part of this investment, Eco-Products®, a Novolex business unit specializing in circular solutions for the foodservice industry, will collaborate to enhance the growth of OZZI.

OZZI offers a range of innovative products and solutions, including O2GO® containers, cups, and cutlery; OZZI Drop N’Go Collection Systems; the OZZI Automated Collection Machine; and a Kitchen Collection of equipment to support the washing, sanitizing, drying, and storing of returned reusables. The O2GO containers are durable, certified to perform for over 1,000 washes.

Reusables are especially effective in closed-system foodservice environments where consumer convenience and dedicated return receptacles optimize product return and reuse. OZZI’s products are tailored for such closed-system environments, such as colleges, corporate campuses, military bases, and hospitals, where they are a prominent partner in over 400 dining environments.

Tom Wright, CEO and Founder of OZZI, noted, “We have observed a significant rise in market demand for effective reusable solutions. Our industry-leading approach to scalable reusable packaging systems positions us well for growth, and we look forward to leveraging Novolex and Eco-Products’ support for our future expansion.”

Key to OZZI’s solution is its container collection and tracking system, which utilizes barcode technology for efficient tracking and integration with meal plan systems. OZZI’s system can work independently or integrate with renowned campus meal plan systems like Atrium and CBORD.

As part of the transaction, Ian Jacobson, President of Eco-Products, will be joining OZZI’s board of directors. Jacobson emphasized the importance of reusable packaging as a sustainable option in the market and praised OZZI’s ability to promote high levels of reuse.

While the demand for reusables is growing in the US, opportunities are also increasing in Canada and Europe due to restrictions on single-use plastic foodservice packaging. Eco-Products’ divisions in Canada and Europe, along with UK-based Vegware, will collaborate to accelerate global demand for OZZI’s solutions.
