The Bottle Collective, an initiative powered by PulPac and PA Consulting, is excited to announce NBCo as its latest member. NBCo, a leader in sustainable solutions focused on fiber materials, joins the collective to investigate Dry Molded Fiber alternatives specifically tailored for the beauty and personal care industries.
“We’re now looking to push both Dry and Wet bottles as part of our portfolio,” said Alvin Lim, CEO and founder of NBCo. “The Bottle Collective is a natural extension of our mission to scale regenerative fiber systems. By combining PulPac’s innovation with our manufacturing expertise, we can broaden what’s possible for fiber bottles and bring circular packaging to more brands around the world.”
With NBCo’s addition, the Bottle Collective now includes prominent brands like Diageo, Opella (formerly Sanofi), Haleon, and Logoplaste. This powerful alliance is dedicated to introducing fiber-based bottles through shared innovation and collaboration, paving the way for advancements in food and drink sustainable packaging.
“NBCo’s experience in mass manufacturing and expertise in fiber materials perfectly complements the Collective’s focus,” noted Jamie Stone, design, innovation, and sustainability expert at PA Consulting. “Together we’re bridging innovation and industrialization, driving faster progress toward viable, scalable fiber-bottle solutions.”
As highlighted in The Courage to Change Report, the beauty industry generates over 120 billion packaging units annually, much of which is relegated to landfills. This sector is responsible for a staggering one-third of global landfill waste, with 70 percent of its plastic waste going unrecycled. The Bottle Collective directly addresses this issue by facilitating the transition of brand owners to fiber-based bottle systems that emphasize aesthetics, performance, and environmental responsibility.
“The beauty segment sets high standards for both design and functionality,” remarked Sanna Fager, Chief Commercial Officer at PulPac. “We need to meet those expectations and offer a scalable, high-quality alternative that aligns with environmental goals in food and drink packaging.”
Since its inception, the Bottle Collective has achieved significant milestones, including the development of award-winning prototype bottles and earning recognition at prestigious events like London Packaging Week and The Pentawards, one of the world’s top packaging design competitions.
“The Collective continues to prove the power of collaboration,” emphasized Fager. “By uniting expertise across the value chain—from materials and design to production and scale-up—we’re moving closer to commercial-ready fiber bottles that meet the highest standards for performance and circularity.”
