Innovia Films, a leading material science pioneer and major producer of BOPP films, is set to launch a new product tailored for pressure sensitive labeling (PSL) applications. The newly developed Rayoface AQBHA film offers unique engineering with a two-side coated cavitated design.

The polypropylene (PP) film, measuring 58 microns in thickness, boasts exceptional printability. A specially formulated backside coating is optimized for hot melt pressure sensitive label coating. This innovative feature ensures superior performance in PSL applications.

What sets Rayoface AQBHA apart is its dual functionality. The film features a printable top-coating, while the reverse side is coated to be adhesive receptive. This not only provides anti-curl and migration properties with hot melt adhesives but also enhances moisture resistance and cold temperature performance. As such, this material is ideal for fridge and freezer applications.

Lucija Kralj, business unit director Labels EMEA, highlights the environmental benefits of using a label made from polypropylene, especially as more SKU’s transition to polypropylene containers. Designing labels from the same material promotes the design for recycling criteria for filmic facestocks, aligning with sustainability goals.

Extensive hot melt barrier testing has been conducted on Rayoface AQBHA, confirming its durability and reliability. Throughout the testing process, the film remains flat, mitigating any facestock material issues typically associated with hot melt coating in PSL applications.

In conclusion, Rayoface AQBHA by Innovia Films offers a cutting-edge solution for pressure sensitive labeling applications. With its high-performance capabilities and eco-friendly design, this film is poised to meet the evolving needs of the food packaging industry.
