Guylian is enhancing its commitment to food and drink sustainable packaging this Chocolate Week (16th – 22nd October) by unveiling a significant change: the removal of plastic film from the outside of its boxes. Instead, the brand introduces a central closure that opens in two parts, providing easy access to its exquisite marbled chocolates.
Additionally, the moment you open the box, you are greeted with a heartfelt narrative that encapsulates the love story behind Guylian’s founding in 1958, further deepening the connection between the brand and its consumers.
Guided by their shared passion for each other and for chocolate, Belgian chocolatier Guy Foubert and his fiancée Liliane crafted the chocolate Seashells as a tribute to their relationship and their honeymoon on the picturesque Belgian coast. They combined their first names to create ‘Guylian’ and soon launched the Original Seashells—marking the beginning of a remarkable journey!
Guylian is dedicated to minimizing waste throughout its entire production process, maintaining an impressive food waste level of just 0.1% at its Sint-Niklaas facility. Importantly, all chocolates are produced using exclusively Fairtrade-certified cocoa, incorporating 100% ingredients of natural origin, thus reinforcing its position in sustainable food and drink packaging.
This Chocolate Week, chocolate aficionados are encouraged to indulge in the delightful Seashells, crafted with the finest Belgian chocolate and Mediterranean hazelnuts, while supporting sustainability in food packaging.
You can find Guylian Original Belgian Chocolate Seashells at major retailers including Asda, Ocado, Waitrose, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, and Tesco.
