Elopak, a global packaging company, has been recognized by sustainability consultancy Position Green for its outstanding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting, earning an A+ score. This achievement places Elopak in the top 5% of companies assessed, showcasing their commitment to sustainability in the food and drink packaging industry.

In Position Green’s prestigious ESG100 analysis, which evaluates the ESG reporting of the 100 largest listed companies in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, Elopak stood out for providing valuable financial and non-financial information. By excelling in this assessment, Elopak demonstrates its dedication to transparent and accurate reporting for decision makers in the industry.

As the introduction of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) approaches, with implementation scheduled for January 1, 2024, this year’s ESG100 report serves as a crucial evaluation of companies’ preparedness. Elopak’s strong performance reaffirms their position as a leader in sustainable packaging.

Marianne Groven, Director of Sustainability at Elopak, expressed pride in achieving the A+ grade and highlighted the importance of not only reporting but also delivering on sustainability goals. Groven emphasized that Elopak is actively working towards fulfilling their commitments, further solidifying their position as a responsible packaging company.

Earning the highest grade from ESG100 signifies Elopak’s exceptional ESG reporting, placing them in the top 5% of companies in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Remarkably, Elopak secured the fifth rank among Norwegian companies, which had the largest share of companies with an A+ ESG grade. This achievement showcases Elopak’s dedication to sustainability and excellence in reporting.

Groven further stated, “With 15 years of sustainability reporting, Elopak has made significant progress, reflecting the values of our customers and consumers. We are committed to being transparent and accurate, aligning with the growing demand for sustainable solutions in the food and drink packaging industry.”

In 2022, Elopak became one of the pioneering companies to establish Science Based Targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), aiming to become a net zero company by 2050. Additionally, Elopak actively participates in the United Nations (UN) Global Compact, collaboratively working towards the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
