The project features five advanced machines that seamlessly integrate into P&B (Foods)’s sauce production operation, installed and commissioned to enhance automation in the manufacturing process.
This production line efficiently handles a diverse array of sauces, ranging from 250 ml to 1 liter, in both plastic and glass packaging. With a remarkable speed of 100 containers per minute, it achieves an impressive throughput of 6,000 bottles per hour for one-liter containers.
A high-speed rotary unscrambler ensures swift and efficient feeding of containers into a 12-head alternating piston filler, which accommodates both hot and cold filling processes. Additionally, the four-head automatic plastic screw capper and MC100 metal capping machine deliver consistent sealing performance for plastic and metal closures alike.
To complete the packaging process, a multifunctional labeller provides options for front, wraparound, and tamper-evident labelling, ensuring a polished final product.
“We chose Autopack because of their extensive experience in the sauces, edible oils, and other viscous product sectors for providing single machines or turnkey line packages,” stated Safiq Shaikh, project manager at P&B (Foods).
He emphasized that, “From the very beginning, their team provided comprehensive design and integration support, which guided us from concept through to completion, including detailed factory layout planning for our new canning facility.”
The successful implementation of this project has opened avenues for further automation initiatives at P&B, such as automated can and glass lines for ghee products, along with a fully integrated drum line dedicated to filling edible oils, which is currently under development.
Safiq Shaikh added: “Autopack’s proven ability to deliver turnkey systems, seamlessly integrating both process equipment and third-party solutions, gave us full confidence in their capability. Their dedicated project management structure meant we always had a single point of contact and clear communication throughout each project.”
Jonathon Stewart, Autopack UK sales director, expressed, “We are delighted to be continuing our relationship in automating food packaging lines at P&B (Foods) Ltd. Our reputation rests on the proven automated benefits our turnkey lines deliver for customers time and again.”
He further noted, “From improved speed and efficiency to reduced costs and wastage, we’re able to meet packaging automation challenges across the food sector and beyond.”
