Alupro, a leading organization in promoting the benefits of recycling aluminium packaging, has unveiled an educational video that takes viewers on a journey through the post-consumer process of recycling aluminium. The video, titled ‘Secrets of Aluminium,’ is narrated by renowned sports commentator Nick Heath and provides an entertaining perspective on the circular process. It also dispels common myths and showcases the thriving aluminium supply chain in the UK.
To ensure widespread viewership, Alupro will launch a social media awareness campaign across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Furthermore, 3D artist and motion graphic designer Hashmukh Kerai has been enlisted to create an animated version of the recycling journey.
Tom Giddings, the executive director of Alupro, emphasized the need to educate consumers about the fate of their waste once it has been collected from the kerbside. He revealed that there is misinformation and skepticism surrounding the actual recycling rates of packaging collected in the UK. Giddings hopes that ‘Secrets of Aluminium’ will dispel these myths and highlight the infinite circularity of metal packaging. Astonishingly, 75% of all aluminium ever produced is still in use today, underscoring the importance of following proper recycling guidelines.
Giddings further explained, “To make the video engaging and inspiring, we didn’t want it to be a dull educational film. Recycling is far from boring, which is why we enlisted the quirky commentary of Nick Heath. Through his unique delivery, we aim to inspire viewers, increase awareness of the recycling process, and encourage them to think twice about how they handle their used aluminium packaging.”
