The demand for flexible packaging solutions is rapidly evolving, particularly in the realm of food and drink packaging. With the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) scheduled to come into effect within four years, manufacturers must act promptly. Under the motto “adapting today for tomorrow,” adapa Group, your European partner of choice for flexible packaging, showcases how early transitions to recyclable packaging can alleviate external pressures and facilitate smoother shifts. Connect with adapa Group at the Warsaw Pack trade fair in Nadarzyn, Poland, from 14 to 16 April 2026.

Performance Meets Design for Recycling

Although the PPWR has been in effect for nearly a year, many industry players remain hesitant about implementing structures designed for recycling (D4R). This reluctance stems from factors such as lack of information, cost concerns, and performance considerations. To address these challenges, adapa is advancing D4R packaging solutions and has successfully launched various products using mono materials like PE, PP, and paper. Collaborating closely with customers, associations, and industry partners, adapa supports a proactive transition to alternative structures, ensuring a seamless process as the PPWR and its delegated acts are fully defined. Notably, adapa’s D4R products prioritize performance, combining reliable procedures, robust protective functions, and attractive presentation at the point of sale.

adapa’s Warsaw Pack Trade Fair Highlights:

MonoFlow(re) P-Type – High Barrier in PP Monomaterial: With MonoFlow(re) P-Type, adapa introduces a certified recyclable flow-pack solution made from PP. This film effectively combines high barrier properties with reliable sealing performance and maintains packaging integrity even on high-speed flow-pack lines. Transitioning to this packaging concept can reduce plastic usage by up to 70%. Additionally, the material’s transparency and exceptional printability enhance product visibility at the point of sale. MonoFlow(re) P-Type is ideal for a variety of products, including cheese, fresh and processed meat, plant-based items, baked goods, frozen foods, and confectionery.

Paper Stand-Up Pouches – Versatile and Process-Reliable: Adapa’s paper-based stand-up pouches are designed for a broad range of dry applications. These pouches can be processed reliably and recycled through existing streams after use. With versatile design options—ranging from matte or glossy finishes to customized print designs—these pouches ensure strong brand presence at the point of sale. They cater to various market segments, encompassing both food and non-food applications.

PaperTwister(re) – Modern Range of Paper-Based Twisters: Adapa presents a CEPI-certified paper-based twist wrap solution for confectionery applications with PaperTwister(re). Composed of up to 98% paper content and a plant-based coating, it merges sustainability with dependable performance. This product is printable in up to eight colors and is available in both matte and gloss finishes, making it suitable for a variety of confections, including sugar- and chocolate-coated items, soft chews, toffees, and hard candies.

EcoString Loopbag – Monomaterial Design Down to the Last Detail: Another highlight at the trade fair is the EcoString Loopbag, a next-generation drawstring bag. Both the bag and the cord are made from the same material, allowing for seamless recycling. The integrated drawstring utilizes materials from internal production residues and mechanically recycled PCR content, achieving up to 80% PCR content, depending on the version. This bag is particularly ideal for hygiene and cosmetic products that do not require barriers and can be printed in up to ten colors, including the cord.

From roto to flexo to digital printing, the Group flexibly adapts to customer needs, supporting everything from small minimum order quantities to large-scale, high-quality roto prints.
