YEW, a sparkling water brand founded by chefs and celebrated for its focus on flavor derived from food, has introduced the UK’s first pickle-flavored sparkling water. This innovative product aims to satisfy the increasing consumer demand for adventurous, culinary-inspired beverages.

The launch of YEW Pickle will take place exclusively at Planet Organic stores and on yewdrink.com starting 1 July, before a six-month exclusive partnership with Ocado.com.

Combining sparkling water with a hint of briny dill pickle, fresh cucumber essence, and a zesty finish, YEW Pickle reflects a broader trend in the soft-drinks sector, where there is a rising preference for sophisticated, savory flavors influenced by culinary arts and restaurant innovations. Like its counterparts in the YEW range, this new product is free from sugar, sweeteners, calories, and artificial additives.

“For us, flavor always starts with food,” stated co-founder Jesse Jenkins, also known as A.D.I.P. “Pickle is fantastic in cooking as it balances richness, enhances a dish, and encourages another bite. We aimed to encapsulate that sensation in a can, producing something clean, unexpected, and utterly delicious.”

The YEW lineup already features other unique flavors such as Pink Rhubarb, Green Apple, and Yuzu Grapefruit, which have contributed to the brand’s rapid rise in a competitive market. Since its debut in September 2024, YEW has expanded quickly, establishing over 2,000 points of sale in retail and hospitality sectors. The forthcoming partnership with Ocado will enable nationwide availability of the full range, with Ocado set to be YEW’s exclusive grocery partner for the next six months.

Lauren Dobinson, buying manager at Ocado Retail, noted that this listing is indicative of a growing interest in unique flavor combinations. “YEW introduces a truly novel option to the category. We are particularly excited to help our customers discover the complete YEW range, including the UK’s inaugural pickle-flavored sparkling water, and look forward to their feedback.”

Planet Organic, the initial retailer to carry YEW Pickle, has reported significant early interest. “Our customers have resonated with YEW’s transparent formulations, unique flavors, and striking designs,” remarked senior buyer Alastair Smith. “We are thrilled to offer shoppers an exclusive first taste of YEW Pickle Sparkling Water, a flavor that has already captivated shoppers in-store.”

Co-founder Francesca Zampi expressed that the collaboration with Ocado marks an important milestone. “Ocado customers are curious, quality-focused, and enjoy exploring new food and drink options, making it a perfect fit for YEW.”
