Wrexham Lager is set to make its mark in Hungary, servicing both the on-trade and off-trade sectors. The product lineup will include Wrexham Lager, Wrexham Export, and Wrexham Pilsner, available in 440ml cans, 330ml bottles, and 5-litre kegs.

CEO James Wright remarked, “Expanding into Hungary marks an exciting new chapter for Wrexham Lager Beer Co as we continue to grow our presence throughout Europe.” He added, “We believe our authentic beer, steeped in over 100 years of history, will not only appeal to Hungarian beer lovers, but also introduce them to a new dimension of flavor forged by our commitment to proper lagering.

Year of Growth

“2025 is set to be another year of significant growth for Wrexham Lager Beer Co and we look forward to seeing how our product lands in Hungary.”

This expansion into Hungary comes less than three months after Wrexham Lager launched its products in the United States, with four-can multipacks of its signature lager now available in 276 Total Wine & More stores across 29 states.

Additionally, last year marked the introduction of Wrexham Lager into retailers in Australia, Japan, Norway, and Sweden. Furthermore, the company plans to expand its reach into Canada during the first quarter of 2025.

Historic Lager

Co-owned by Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, along with the Roberts family who have managed the brewery since 2011, Wrexham Lager Beer Co has been brewing using the same recipe its founders established more than 140 years ago. This heritage makes it reportedly the oldest lager brand in the UK.

In related news, UK microwave rice firm Veetee Foods has expanded its operations in the United States, announcing plans to build a $36 million (£26.9 million) production facility in Johnston County, North Carolina (NC).

The Selma site will play a crucial role in producing Veetee’s rice products, along with a range of new convenience meal lines under the HungryHeads brand. Notably, the factory is projected to create 200 jobs with an annual compensation of $60,000 (£44,878).
