This advancement addresses the distinct needs of the food manufacturing sector, particularly within the wine industry.
“Our customers in the wine industry expect a solution that is not only efficient, but also flexible and user-friendly. With the new wine pump with an integrated VY pump, we offer them exactly that,” states Harald Vogelsang, managing director of Vogelsang. The company successfully showcased this innovative pump for the first time at the SIMEI in Italy, garnering significant attention from industry professionals.
This versatile wine pump effectively conveys liquids of varying viscosities, making it an essential tool for critical wine production processes. These processes include decanting wine from tanks, transporting pomace post-fermentation and maceration, and facilitating bottling operations.
The wine pump is available in two sizes and five variants, providing flexibility tailored to size and flow rate requirements. Notably, it is engineered for optimal performance in confined, hard-to-access spaces, enhancing its operational efficiency.
“The new chassis has now a brand new functional design, which makes it much easier to transport the pump,” explains Claudio Ragusa, sales engineer at Vogelsang Italy. Consequently, this design responds to customers’ requests for enhanced flexibility and user convenience, allowing for effortless movement between various production areas.
The pump’s advanced, gap-free design minimizes material deposits, simplifying cleaning and reducing maintenance efforts. Furthermore, the integrated control technology streamlines daily operations, enabling the exchange of data related to pressures, flow rates, and work cycles. Users will appreciate the intuitive touchscreen interface and user-friendly app, specifically designed to meet the unique demands of the wine industry.
The VY pumps, tailored for the wine sector, deliver impressive performance ranging from 10-700 hl/h at a maximum pressure of 10 bar, depending on the specific application. Featuring a flow-optimized, one-piece housing, these pumps ensure exceptional efficiency. Additionally, their soft, elastomer-coated rotary pistons contribute to a notably gentle pumping process. Notably, the pumps allow operators to reverse the delivery direction, facilitating both filling and emptying of containers as needed. They also excel in suction power, produce lower noise emissions, and offer straightforward serviceability and maintenance, thanks to the integrated QuickService concept.
