The Uncommon, a B Corp recognized for its innovation in English wines presented in cans, has ventured into the bottle wine market with the introduction of two new still wine offerings. This strategic move targets bars and restaurants, facilitating entry into venues where bottled service remains the standard for shared experiences and table service.

Launching this month through the premium distributor Enotria, the new collection features two exceptional wines from the 2025 vintage, sourced from the North Kent Downs. This initiative highlights the winemaker’s aspiration to make local wines more accessible for various occasions while upholding a commitment to environmentally friendly practices.

Since its founding, The Uncommon has earned acclaim for introducing English wines to new settings through can packaging. This latest offering broadens that vision, entering traditional hospitality environments where wine sharing is customary.

“Our ambition has always transcended format,” stated Henry Connell, founder of The Uncommon. “We established The Uncommon with premium English wines in cans because they resonate with contemporary lifestyles… Our bottles enable us to attract a broader audience to English wines, making it simpler to opt for local options, no matter the situation.”

The newly launched wines differ from the company’s existing canned selections, coming from an “outstanding” 2025 harvest known for its vibrant fruit and optimal ripeness. Both wines are dry, unoaked, vegan-friendly, and boast an ABV of 11%. The titles—High Tease and Tempting Fete—celebrate quintessential “British moments worth stretching out,” bringing to mind leisurely lunches and relaxed afternoons.

Aligning with its foundational principles of regenerative viticulture and local sourcing, the wines are packaged in 750ml lightweight glass bottles. At 395g, these bottles weigh 28% less than traditional wine bottles, contributing to a reduced ecological footprint.

This launch coincides with a notable surge in the sector, with WineGB reporting a 10% increase in the sales of English still wines in 2024. Phillip White, CEO of Enotria, remarked that this addition responds to a rising interest in the UK on-trade: “Our clients are increasingly seeking new and intriguing English still wines to incorporate a sense of provenance and locally-sourced quality into their selections.”
